A wild and authentic Caribbean adventure. This trip takes you to the remote and windy shores of La Guajira, Colombia’s norther region. You’ll experience two unique kitesurfing destinations: Mayapo and Cabo de la Vela, surrounded by sand dunes, desert landscapes, and the Wayuu indigenous culture. La Guajira is the land of wind so you will have steady trade winds every day, warm waters, and a strong connection with nature. This trip is an adventure so don’t expect big luxury resorts just get ready to explore and connect with both nature and the locals.

Spot and wind conditions​
​
The main season is between January and May. Wind speed is usually from 20-30 knots. We will be visiting 2 spots:
​
Mayapo, a quiet beach village with super steady wind. You can choose between small waves with some chop or head to the nearby flat water lagoon.
​
Cabo de la Vela, a legendary kite spot with strong, constant wind and endless flat water. It's a great place to level up your riding and learn new tricks in a wild and beautiful setting. The desert vibes and local culture make it extra special.

Plan of the Trip

7 nights /8 days exploration road trip around the best kitesurfing spots in Colombia.

Arrival in Riohacha. We’ll pick you up at the airport and drive 30 minutes to Mayapo. Settle into our eco-lodge and enjoy the first sunset session.

3 days of kitesurfing in Mayapo.

Off road drive to the very remote spot called Cabo de la Vela.

We stay 4 days at the camp to connect with nature, enjoy flat lagoon sessions and get to know the Wayu culture.

Morning check-out and drive back to Riohacha. Flights should be booked in the afternoon or evening.
